Joy Friend is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Joy attended Oklahoma State University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Relations and Child Development. She went on to the University of Oklahoma to earn a Master’s in Social Work. She has training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Play Therapy, and Psychological First Aid.
She provides individual, family and group therapy working with children, adolescents, and adults. Joy has experience working with children, especially children who have experienced trauma, neglect, abuse, foster care placement and adoption.
Joy has taught Play Therapy, Stress Management, and Dream Analysis classes at a local Community College and incorporates these teachings in her practice. She has a special interest in women’s issues and has facilitated girl empowerment groups with teenagers, as well as women addressing self-esteem, body image and relationships.
